Location: Mikumi Na,onal Park is located in southern Tanzania, about 283 km (175
miles) west of Dar es Salaam, making it one of the most accessible parks from the city.
Size: Covers 3,230 km², bordering the larger Selous Game Reserve.
Habitat: Features open grasslands (Mkata Floodplain), miombo woodlands, and mountain
ranges.
Wildlife:Known as “LiVle Serenge,” due to its abundant wildlife, including lions, elephants,
zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, hippos, and buffaloes.
Highlights
- Big Cats: Lions, leopards (if lucky), and hyenas.
- Elephants & Buffaloes: Frequently seen near waterholes.
