Paje & the East Coast
The east coast is a tidal place. At low water the sea leaves a wide flat where women farm seaweed on lines of rope, a livelihood that still holds many households in Paje and Jambiani. This day is built around that tide: a walk on the flats with someone who can explain the farming, time in the village, and a swim when the water returns. The Rock, the restaurant on its coral outcrop at Michamvi, is a photograph from the shore. A table there is a separate booking and is not assumed. Kites fill the sky in season; this tour is not a kite lesson.

Questions
Will we walk on the seaweed farms?
Only with a local host, and without stepping on the lines. The farms are someone’s crop.
Can we eat at The Rock?
Ask us to request a table. Low tide means you wade. We do not promise a reservation.
Is this a kiteboarding day?
No. We can introduce a school if you want lessons. They are booked and paid separately.
