Day one is the road or a short flight toward Tarangire, a park of baobabs, the Tarangire River, and large elephant herds in the dry months. You sleep nearby. The next day is the crater: an early descent, a full morning on the floor, and a picnic. The third day returns you toward Arusha and the flight to Zanzibar. It is a full itinerary without being a week away from the beach.
