The walk most people remember is among the Zanzibar red colobus, a monkey found only on this island. They are wild. They come close. You do not feed them, touch them, or use flash. A ranger walks with you. The second part of a proper visit is the mangrove boardwalk, where the forest turns tidal and the light changes. The path is shaded and mostly level. They are habituated near the trails.
