Tarangire & Ngorongoro
This is the northern safari for guests who want two different landscapes and do not need the extra flight into the Serengeti. Day one is the road or a short flight toward Tarangire, a park of baobabs, the Tarangire River, and large elephant herds in the dry months. You sleep nearby. The next day is the crater: an early descent, a full morning on the floor, and a picnic. The third day returns you toward Arusha and the flight to Zanzibar. It is a full itinerary without being a week away from the beach. In the long rains some Tarangire tracks are heavy; we adjust, we do not pretend the park is the same in April as in September.

Questions
Why not go straight to the crater?
You can. Tarangire is here because a crater-only trip is a single landscape, and the elephants are worth the extra morning.
Is April a bad month?
It is greener, wetter, and cheaper. Some tracks close. Wildlife is still there. We will tell you if your dates are a poor fit.
Private vehicle?
Yes. The sample price is per person and assumes a private vehicle shared by your own group.
