Stone Town Walking Tour
Stone Town is a coral-stone city, not a backdrop. This half day stays on foot: Zanzibari doors with their brass studs and Indian, Arab, and Swahili carving; the Old Fort and the harbour front; the Anglican Cathedral, built on the site of the former slave market, with time to be quiet rather than hurried; and the waterfront if the light is kind. A coffee stop is part of the plan. The House of Wonders is seen from outside unless it is open. Dress modestly — shoulders and knees covered — and wear shoes you can walk in. Morning is cooler.

Questions
How long are we walking?
About three to four hours, with stops. Tell us if anyone needs a shorter loop or a slower pace.
Is this suitable with children?
Yes, if they can walk the lanes. Strollers struggle on the steps. We can shorten the route.
Can we add Prison Island the same day?
Yes. Morning in town, boat after lunch, or the other way around depending on the tide and the boat.
