Jozani Forest
Jozani Chwaka Bay is Unguja’s national park. The walk most people remember is among the Zanzibar red colobus, a monkey found only on this island. They are wild. They come close. You do not feed them, touch them, or use flash. A ranger walks with you. The second part of a proper visit is the mangrove boardwalk, where the forest turns tidal and the light changes. The path is shaded and mostly level. Combine it with Kuza Cave or a village if you want a fuller day. Park fees are included in the guide price below.

Questions
Will we definitely see the monkeys?
Almost always, yes. They are habituated near the trails. They are still wild animals, so the exact tree is not scheduled.
Can we bring food for them?
No. Feeding changes their behaviour and their health. The ranger will stop it.
How much walking?
A gentle hour or so in the forest, plus the boardwalk. Tell us about knees or heat and we slow down.
