Mikumi Day Safari
Mikumi is the national park operators use when a guest on Zanzibar wants animals without giving up a week. Done in one day it is a serious day, and we will not describe it as easy. You leave before dawn, fly to the mainland, and drive west to the park — the road from Dar es Salaam is several hours. Inside Mikumi the drive crosses open floodplain where zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and elephant are the usual company, with lion possible and never promised. You return to Zanzibar the same night, late. If that length is wrong for your group, ask for Mikumi as two days with a night on the mainland. The figure below is a sample per person and assumes the flights and park fees are inside the package, not a vehicle-only price.
Guide price: from USD 390 per person. Replace this number when you edit the trip.

Questions
Is one day realistic?
It is done, and it is tiring. Families with small children usually do better with a night on the mainland. We will say which fits you.
Are lions guaranteed?
No. The plains animals are the reliable sight. Predators are a bonus.
Why is the price unlike a Stone Town walk?
You are paying for flights, a vehicle, and park fees in one day. Change the number when you know your season and your group size.
